2007 Public Service and Outreach Staff Award for Excellence

Jann Moore

Jann Moore, a human resource coordinator at the Georgia Center for Continuing Education, manages the payroll and personnel processing for more than 450 employees and helps develop programs that benefit both new and veteran Georgia Center staff.

She redesigned the Center’s orientation program to help new temporary and full-time staff get acquainted with policies and procedures. She also organized quarterly “lunch and learn” meetings and a listserv where employees can pool resources and share knowledge that better serves all UGA staff and faculty.

Thanks to her efforts, every Georgia Center employee now meets with his or her supervisor at least twice a year through the new Employee Performance Appraisal System, which she helped implement.

Moore has partnered with the Clarke County School System program VOICE (Vocational Opportunities and Instruction in Community Education) as well as the College of Education’s Human Resource Organization Development Degree program to provide opportunities for high school and graduate students to work at the Georgia Center and learn basic job skills.
