UGA Small Business Development Center area director named business advocate of the year
Savannah, Ga. (June 28, 2006) – Lynn Vos, Savannah area director for the University of Georgia Small Business Development Center, has been awarded the 2006 Helen V. Head Business Advocate award. The award recognizes an individual whose creative vision, talents and innovative thinking create opportunities and growth for small business in the community.
Vos, who has more than 12 years of experience working with small businesses in Georgia, was presented the award at the Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce’s 20th annual Small Business Awards Banquet held June 20, 2006.
“We are glad to know that Lynn’s long-time commitment to the small business community in Savannah is recognized and appreciated. She is entirely dedicated to helping entrepreneurs improve their chances for success and to improving the local economy ‘one small business at a time,’” said Allan Adams, Georgia SBDC state director.
Vos has been previously recognized for her business consulting skills and for providing assistance to small business owners through the Georgia SBDC Network. In 2001, she received the State Star Award from the Association of Small Business Development Centers, and in 2000 she was named the Georgia SBDC Business Consultant of the Year. Vos also received the 1999 ASBDC Star Performer Award, the highest award available for outstanding work within an SDBC.
