Interim director named for the International Center for Democratic Governance
Athens, Ga. (Sept. 29, 2006) – Jennifer Frum has been appointed interim director of the International Center for Democratic Governance (ICDG), part of the Carl Vinson Institute of Government. Frum is on temporary leave from UGA’s Office of International Public Service and Outreach where she serves as assistant director.
“I feel fortunate to have such a well-qualified person lead the ICDG during this interim period,” said Steve Wrigley, UGA’s director of the Carl Vinson Institute of Government and senior vice president for external affairs. “Jennifer Frum has a deep understanding of UGA’s public service mission and extensive experience managing international development projects.”
For more than a decade, Frum has developed and implemented international development projects at UGA. She has administered research, cross-cultural exchange and training projects in Mexico, Trinidad and Tobago, Croatia, the Republic of Georgia, Uruguay, Kenya and Uganda. She also served on the advisory board for UGA’s Latino Initiative and coordinated the IDEAS grant program. Frum currently serves on the advisory board for the African Studies Institute.
The appointment follows the retirement of long-time director Dan Durning, effective September 1. A national search for a permanent director is underway.
Frum holds a master’s degree in international relations from George Washington University and is currently a doctoral student in the Institute of Higher Education.
