SEGUE grant proposals due Dec. 1

paige-carmichael.gifThe deadline for proposal submission for the 2006-2007 Scholarship of Engagement Grants for Enhanced University Engagement (SEGUE) program is December 1, 2006.

SEGUE grants support faculty members who design and implement research-informed outreach programs or activities that address community needs. Outreach projects can include service-learning by UGA students; community-based participatory research, applied research, and policy analysis; technical assistance; and program development and delivery.

The SEGUE grant program is sponsored by the Office of the Vice President for Public Service and Outreach. According to vice president Art Dunning, this seed-grant program is intended to encourage UGA faculty to work with students and other faculty members to apply cutting-edge research to specific needs expressed by Georgia communities and, in turn, to apply the lessons learned through their teaching, research and other outreach endeavors.

Application guidelines and a funding request form may be accessed at http://outreach.uga.edu/publications.
