Georgia Center Employees Receive Session of the Year Award

marti-brick-and-kimberly-fink-web.jpgAthens, GA (May 14, 2007) — Two University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education Conference Center and Hotel employees — Kimberly Cook and Marti Brick — received the Session of the Year Award from the Association of Collegiate Conference and Events Directors-International (ACCED-I) at the ACCED-I 27th Annual Conference on March 26, 2007 in Baltimore, MD.

Cook, an event designer, and Brick, pubic service faculty, received the award for presenting a session titled “Make Them Say WOW!” at the ACCED-I 26th Annual Conference in Dallas, TX in March 2006. Nominees are determined based on the rating of sessions by conference attendee evaluations.

ACCED-I is the only independent educational association dedicated to professional growth and development in the collegiate conference and events profession. ACCED-I has a membership of more than 1,500 professionals at educational institutions in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.

The Georgia Center, celebrating its 50th Anniversary in 2007, is a unit of the University of Georgia’s Office of the Vice President for Public Service and Outreach. The Center provides innovative lifelong learning opportunities through its continuing education programs.
