The Prison Pipeline: The Criminalization of America’s Children
UGA’s Child and Family Policy Initiative, coordinated by the Carl Vinson Institute of Government and the College of Family and Consumer Sciences, invites you to attend a symposium that will provide an opportunity to examine what has become a national trend – America’s children being channeled into the Juvenile and Criminal Justice Systems from their public schools and local neighborhoods. November 6, 2007, from 3:30-5:30 p.m. at UGA’s Student Learning Center, room 101.
Please join us as researchers and practitioners present what they have seen and discuss implications for policy and practice. The event will also serve as a kick-off to a state-wide research symposium to be held in Fall 2008, which will bridge current research with policy and practice from across the state.
Light refreshments will be provided. This event has been registered as a Blue Card event with the Franklin College of Arts & Sciences.
