The Call for Proposals for the 2008 Outreach Scholarship Conference, The Scholarship of Outreach and Engagement: What Is It and Why Does It Matter?, may be accessed at www.outreachscholarship.org.

The deadline for submitting a proposal is February 25, 2008.

The Office of the Vice President for Public Service and Outreach will provide the registration cost for up to two presenters of an accepted presentation (units would be responsible for travel expenses).

This national conference is an excellent opportunity for national recognition of a faculty member’s scholarship of engagement. Conference presenters are also encouraged to submit their presentation in manuscript form for publication consideration in a special issue of the Journal of Higher Education Outreach and Engagement.

About the Conference: The 9th Annual Outreach Scholarship Conference is co-sponsored* by UGA and will be held at Penn State University on October 7-9, 2008.
