Global Health Symposium
Athens, Ga. (April 14, 2008) — The University Of Georgia College of Public Health and Biomedical and Health Sciences Institute present the first annual UGA Global Health Symposium, April 21-22, 2008 at the Paul D. Coverdell Center for Biomedical and Health Sciences.
Global health research is on-going across the UGA campus and interest continues to grow. This symposium will serve to help build the momentum behind global health initiatives currently being developed at UGA. These include the creation of Global Health Certificate program, as well new internship opportunities for students to learn and gain experience abroad in global health. This symposium aims to bring the UGA community together to discuss how the University can contribute to international efforts for improvement and equity in global health.
Who should attend? Anyone interested in international health, public health, international development, medicine, nonprofits, philanthropy, microfinance, social entrepreneurship, bioethics, economics, anthropology, health policy, advocacy, environmental health, service-learning, medical education, and public service.
