PSO Awards

The Engaged Scholar Award recognizes a tenured faculty member for significant contributions to advancing public service and outreach at UGA through the scholarship of engagement and by providing service-learning opportunities for students.

The Walter Barnard Hill Fellow Award recognizes sustained, distinguished, and superb achievement in university public service and outreach, and contributions to improving the quality of life in Georgia or elsewhere.

The Walter Barnard Hill Awards recognize distinguished achievement in public service and outreach by UGA faculty members and service professionals.

The Public Service and Outreach Staff Award for Excellence is the most prestigious award for staff members and recognizes individuals who have demonstrated a strong work ethic, commitment to service, and exceptional job performance.

The Outreach Scholarship/W.K. Kellogg Foundation Engagement Awards seek to identify colleges and universities that have redesigned their learning, discovery, and engagement functions to become even more involved with their communities. The regional awards are presented annually each fall during the National Outreach Scholarship Conference. Five regional awards are presented and recipients move on to compete for the national Magrath Award.
