Personal finance website www.NerdWallet.com recently named Athens-Clarke County as the seventh-best place in Georgia for job-seekers.
It based the rankings on unemployment rate, median household income, cost of living and population growth. The website cited Athens’ 3.1 percent growth in working-age population between 2009 and 2011, the University of Georgia’s Small Business Development Center and cultural amenities in its ranking.
The Georgia cities of Johns Creek, Alpharetta and Dunwoody topped the list.
