Students from Clarke County School District middle schools are working to develop a healthy community and conserve natural resources through sustainable agriculture and the production of nutritious food. In the Kitchen Garden Corps Summer Program, led by UGA Office of Service-Learning VISTA volunteers and directed by Wick Prichard, students work in a school gardens & farms, harvest food, and plan menus and prepare a lunch for the community. Meals are served on Thursdays during the summer at the Career Academy for a small donation which helps fund the program.
