South Georgia regional leadership program plans for transportation improvements

Locate South Georgia LEADS, a regional effort to develop the leadership pipeline in southwest Georgia, has begun to formulate ideas and plans to improve regional transportation. Members of the program got a recent tour of the inland port and heard from a panel of six transportation experts. This regional leadership effort grew out of outreach through GeorgiaLEADS, a partnership between the J.W. Fanning Institute for Leadership Development and the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, to help communities and regions strengthen community leadership. The one-year pilot program in southwest Georgia will test the regional approach as a new strategy to develop leadership.
