Winners announced for Georgia Science and Engineering Fair

More than 700 students from across the state recently competed for more than $25,000 in prizes and awards during the 66th Annual Georgia Science and Engineering Fair, administered and hosted by the University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education, a UGA public service and outreach unit. Connecting with art

Visitors of all ages gathered at the Georgia Museum of Art (GMOA) this weekend to view the museum’s latest exhibit, “Crossroads of Memory: Carroll Cloar and the American South.” More than just a typical gallery viewing, this was a special event coordinated by museum curator of education and 2013-14 Service-Learning Fellow Carissa DiCindio to connect grandparents with grandchildren through art appreciation, storytelling and memory sharing. Twelve students named 2013-14 PSO Student Scholars

Twelve UGA undergraduate students have been selected as Public Service and Outreach Scholars for 2013-2014. Supported by the Office of the Vice President for Public Service and Outreach and administered through the Office of Service-Learning, the yearlong program provides students with the opportunity to learn about UGA’s public service and outreach (PSO) mission. Sean McMillan appointed director of UGA’s economic development office in Atlanta

Sean B. McMillan has been appointed director of economic development for the Atlanta office of the University of Georgia as of July 16. Jennifer Frum, vice president for public service and outreach, and David Lee, vice president for research, made the announcement. Together they co-direct the university’s economic development efforts. Full story
