Employee Spotlight: Eva Scott

Eva Scott, program operations coordinator at the UGA J.W. Fanning Institute for Leadership Development, recently was awarded the Public Service and Outreach Employee Spotlight Award.

In her role, Scott provides support for youth, community and nonprofit leadership programs. This includes working with clients, planning teams, accounting support, logistical management, programmatic assessment and reporting.

In addition to overseeing numerous chamber- and school-based youth programs throughout Georgia, Scott has played a pivotal role in launching and coordinating Youth LEAD Georgia, the Fanning Institute’s first statewide youth leadership program. This year-long program includes four weekend retreats in communities across the state and a four-day summer bus tour through South Georgia. Scott ensures that all logistical details are managed seamlessly and efficiently, and her meticulous approach to problem-solving and ability to anticipate challenges have been key in overcoming obstacles and ensuring the success of the program.

Scott’s dedication to empowering young leaders throughout the state is evident in her tireless efforts. She ensures that every participant feels included and valued at every step of the process, and her genuine passion for fostering youth leadership plays a key role in the success of each Fanning youth program.

In addition to her work coordinating youth programs, Scott consistently exceeds expectations by actively participating in Fanning Institute committees, working groups, and mentoring student workers with both enthusiasm and professionalism.

Scott, who joined the Fanning Institute in 2022, was nominated by Lauren Healey, interim associate director and senior public service associate at the institute.

“Eva’s contributions have greatly enriched the Fanning Institute and PSO, and have positively impacted the lives of countless young leaders across the state,” said Matt Bishop, interim vice president for Public Service and Outreach.

Scott received a gift basket of treats and a framed certificate recognizing the award.
