The Faculty/Staff Appreciation Event is a celebration of achievements for PSO employees.
PSO Employee Spotlight
The PSO Employee Spotlight recognizes employees who go above and beyond their normal responsibilities, who produce outstanding work and who contribute significantly to the strategic mission of PSO.
PSO employees are encouraged to nominate colleagues or themselves for the award.
Annual Week of Service
UGA Public Service and Outreach faculty and staff participate in a week of giving back to their local communities each November.

Professional Development Opportunities
PSO Staff Professional Development Conference
The PSO Staff Professional Development Conference offers professional development and networking opportunities to all Public Service and Outreach staff employees.
Provides faculty and staff with strong leadership potential an opportunity to cultivate leadership skills while developing a deeper understanding of the scope and reach of public service and outreach at UGA.

The academy is open to all faculty rank and professional staff within all PSO units, Extension, schools/colleges and departments across campus, who desire to integrate facilitation and process design in their university work with internal and external colleagues and constituents.

The academy will assist PSO faculty and staff interested in disseminating their knowledge and learnings through policy papers, national conference presentations and peer reviewed posters and articles. This 14-month program includes seven modules and an end of program symposium.

PSO Grant Writing Workshop Series
The Grant Writing Workshop Series helps PSO faculty and staff develop the skills to prepare successful grant proposals. The program includes an in-person retreat in the fall followed by series of webinars held throughout the academic year.

PSO Program Evaluation Workshop Series
The Program Evaluation Workshop Series teaches the basics of evaluation and evaluation planning and is hosted on UGA’s eLearning Commons (eLC) in an asynchronous format, allowing employees to pursue learning at their own pace. The series includes four workshops. Employees can register for the series or an individual workshop.

PSO In Action
PSO in Action is a series of off-campus programs that offer staff, whose primary responsibilities are on campus or office-based, an opportunity to see how UGA Public Service and Outreach serves the state.
New Faculty Tour
Provides new faculty members a formal and comprehensive introduction to the State of Georgia’s geography, demographics, diversity, economy, history and culture. The NFT also allows new faculty to network and develop professional relationships with peers across campus.
