Introduction/Objective

The Vice President for Public Service and Outreach has established a division-wide recognition program to acknowledge and celebrate the achievements and contributions of Public Service and Outreach (PSO) employees throughout the year. The recognition program highlights employees who go above and beyond their normal responsibilities, who produce outstanding work and who contribute significantly to the strategic mission of the division.

Eligibility

Public Service and Outreach faculty and staff based in a PSO unit are eligible to be nominated. Nominees may be full- or part-time, and must be a current PSO employee at the time of recognition.

Nominations

Nominations are reviewed and awardees selected by the Office of the Vice President for Public Service and Outreach. Employees are encouraged to self-nominate or nominate a coworker within their department or another PSO unit. Nominations may be submitted at any time of the year.

Tips for writing a successful nomination

  • Give details, be specific about why the employee should be recognized.
  • Nominations should emphasize going above and beyond standard work expectations or accomplishing goals that exceed work requirements.
  • Feel free to provide additional documentation to support the nomination.
  • Focus on achievements within the current fiscal year.
