The Georgia Association of School Business Officials (GASBO) invited the Carl Vinson Institute of Government’s Financial Management Program faculty to lead continuing education courses at the 2015 GASBO Conference in November in Augusta. Public Service Assistant Russ Cook helped arrange the institute’s first-ever participation in a GASBO training conference. Financial Management Program Manager Tracy Arner and faculty member John Hulsey will lead the courses. Possible topics include best practices in accounts payable, accounting for capital assets, and audited financial statements. In addition, the institute has offered to work with GASBO leaders to provide training workshops throughout the year.
