UGA Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant are hosting an Oyster Roast for a Reason on Nov. 5, 2016, from 5-8 p.m., to raise money for the state’s first oyster hatchery at the Shellfish Research Lab on Skidaway Island, Ga.
The event will feature roasted oysters, chicken and other foods, beer from SweetWater Brewing Company, and music by The Accomplices. It will take place, rain or shine, on the bluffs next to the UGA Aquarium and Marine Education Center.
Friends of the Aquarium members will be invited to a wine reception inside the aquarium. Learn more about Friends of the Aquarium at marex.uga.edu/friends.
