College and career center hosts grand opening in Grady County

Cairo High School hosted a ribbon cutting to mark the grand opening of its newly constructed college and career center. The completion of the center is the culmination of a five-year collaborative effort between the Grady County Board of Education and the Grady County Archway Partnership issue work group on education for a quality workforce.

The group began exploration of the college and career academy concept in 2013 and received a $3.5 million construction grant from the Technical College System of Georgia’s Office of College and Career Transitions. The Archway Partnership issue work group continues its work to engage businesses, industries and regional higher education partners in efforts to improve college and career readiness among Grady County students.
